One feature of LifeNets involvement in its many foreign projects is insistence on responsible management and oversight in the area being helped, as well as careful disbursement of funds on this side. The JohJan school project illustrates this idea in action, from the research done here to the oversight of received funds in Kenya. The recent update on this project explains some of this process and also shows what must be done for this school to proceed. As we can see, financial aid–whether foreign or domestic–requires a lot more than simply signing a check. Sustainability and accountability are important hallmarks of LifeNets’ work.
